GREEN GRAPES TO BE CONVERTED TO RAISINS ARE TREATED WITH SULPHUR DIOXIDE GAS (S02)

Step 1

A Pit is dug in an open space and ‘dolfeen’-Sulphur powder (Raisin Grade) is burnt In it along with black cotton


Step 2

Surrounding this, the grapes are placed in crates and then the complete area is covered by all the slides




Step 3

The heated Sulphur Powder forms Sulphur dioxide which helps grapes to convert into good quality raisins of Golden/Yellow Color. This Process is done for 12 hours approximately and is generally kept overnight to get better results

Step 4

Later on, the treated grapes are arranged in a shed with few layers of net and are kept for drying for around 12-15 days and are then sun dried.

Step 5

At the end ,the grapes are sorted out on the basis of their size
